Description

Clinical skill is a basic ability for a medical doctor in clinical practice. Its training is hence an important program for a medical student to learn correct procedure of the clinical skill technique before they start internship in the hospital. However, the variety of clinical skills is so many, and the number of a single grade year of medical student is usually over 100, the skill of learning can only take students into groups and learn in turn. Reviewing the situation of clinical skills curriculum implementation in recent years, it is not difficult to find that the students almost forgot the procedures of the skills learned in the first turn when they turned to the last. Therefore, it is the issue that we have to overcome to enhance the effectiveness of learning, making the student to keep the skills learned in mind, but not forgetting them because of time passed as well as lack of adequate exercise. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) is an educational trend that rises in recent years. Although the conduct of health care related courses starts to focus on the combination of online learning and flipped teaching, but the clinical skill learning is still mainly on simulation-based teaching methods with multi-evaluation and adjustment in order to identify the best method to improve the skill learning efficiency for medical students. In this project, we plan a three-year program. The most important task for the first year is to develop and establish the refined schemes of MOOCs flipped teaching curriculum to enhance the medical clinical skill teaching efficiency. The second year, the refined clinical skill MOOCs flipped teaching curriculum will get on teaching experiment, in order to understand the effectiveness of skill training for medical students. The last, i.e. the third year, for searching the skill learning retention situation after MOOCs flipped teaching curriculum to do related discussion and analysis, we will further collect the evaluation information, and seek for volunteers to do continuous observation and interview in their following clerkship and internship.
