本計畫的完成新發現了金雞納生物鹼的藥理活性,為首次發現的細胞保護活性,且針對腦血管內皮的保護效果為近來相當有潛力的缺血性腦中風藥物開發策略,除了單獨使用的腦部保護效果外,偕同血栓溶解劑進行治療,亦是目前的研發方向。此外,奈米凝膠劑型的於降低毒性與產業應用上亦具相當價值。
