Project Details

Description

The essence of medicine is the intimate, authentic and mysterious meeting of two human beings, physician and patient, with the intention to relieve suffering. The ability of the physician to listen deeply to the patient and respond with insight and empathy to the patient is one of the core elements of professionalism .Clinical judgment is a science and an art. Some evidence indicates that errors often result not from a lack of knowledge but from the mindless application of unexamined habits and the interference of unexamined emotions. Mindfulness help physicians to become more aware of one’s own mental processes, listen more attentively, become flexible, and recognize bias and judgments, and thereby act with principles and compassion, there for mindful practices to foster Mindfulness are part of many family medicine residency programs ,some other residency and medical school curriculum. In this project, We will introduce the phenomenology of aesthetic experience and theses of mindfulness to elucidate how it is possible to foster mindfulness through arts and will execute evidence-based research to indicate the relativity of mindfulness fostering and the teaching model through arts performance, which practice include " the conduction of embodied perception practice, reflective writing, discussions on meta-cognition theory", in medicine students.
