臺灣第二型糖尿病人口佔比逐年增加,112年位居十大死亡原因第五位。高良薑為可食用食材與傳統藥材。本計畫預備試驗以細胞試驗配合動物餵食,結果顯示高良薑具有降低db/db基因缺陷小鼠的血糖與改善db/db小鼠誘導產生的認知障礙的記憶與學習能力。本計畫擬以兩年期,包括基因缺陷鼠與誘導第二型糖尿病鼠實驗與細胞模式等體外試驗,提供高良薑在改善第二型糖尿病血糖及併發症的效果。
