Social Medicine Discipline Research Planning and Promotion Project

Social Medicine Discipline comprises of five subjects: Public health and Environmental medicine, Psychological Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics and Nursing. Due to high heterogeneity of the disciplines, this project recruited scholars from five subjects in an advisory board to reach a consensus and establish review criteria for both individual and long-term projects. To avoid unfair scoring and repetitive reviews, it is important to establish a standard review and scoring criteria from the advisory boards. In addition, Social medicine research frequently focused on public health topics, such as aging and low birth rates. For example, innovative strategy for improved quality care in elderly and promoted sustainable healthcare system. These are challenge research topics for different disciplines collaboration and further exploration. In addition, this project comply to the regulation of Ministry of Technology and Science and implemented the following convener’s responsibilities: 1) Direct the research proposal review and applications, 2) Attend international conferences, lectures and technical, recruitment and training workshops, 3) International cooperation (Discipline collaboration planning, prioritized collaborative tasks and recommendations, and promote staff exchanges) and reimbursed fees for organized domestic conferences and relevant fees for attending international conferences and training workshops, 4) Attend discipline convener meeting and promote relevant tasks of Ministry of Technology and Science, 5) Project composition of research proposal, annual reports and assist discipline informational request, 6) Organize review seminar, forum, and conferences, or result presentation, 7) Other discipline relevant tasks, such as, consultation, planning, and implementation. 8) Conduct prospective research study and promote international exchanges.
