Project Details

Description

Partly because of the impaired body functions and structures, people with disabilities may have restricted daily life activities and limited social participation. Thus, people with disabilities are often difficult to maintain and promote their health. To reduce the occurrence of secondary conditions and the risk of dual disabilities in people who are disabled, we will conduct the study to identify those illnesses often found in people with disabilities, to explore those persons’ requirements for health promotion and illness prevention, and to establish helpful programs for secondary prevention for them. Availability of the programs is also an important issue for those people with disabilities. In addition, we will calculate the economic burden to do those prevention programs.
