Description
In this study, Zirconia-based ceramics which has an excellence characteristic such as high anti-wear, high rigidity, and higher chemical stability is produce by the mixture of Y2O3 – stabilized zirconia with silver metallic nanoparticles or copper powders composite-materials. These composite powders are compacted by pressing followed by atmospheric pre-sintering from the mixture. During this process, its mechanical properties such as hardness, volume shrinkage, porosity are highly investigated. The microstructural phase and grain morphologies were measured by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Since ceramics offer a potential for excellent biocompatibility, and long-term stability, therefore this product currently in study shows the strongest and toughest ceramic materials available and widely apply in biomedical devices of ceramic crown and dental implants. With the aid of magnetic resonance imaging and computer-aided simulation, the medical device shows a great response with clinical requirements. The porous surface with high density reduces the rejection reaction between tissue and artificial restoration and makes it easier for second-stage process by CAD/CAM system or dental technician. Zirconia is a bio-inert material which does not show any cytotoxicity effect for cell adhesion better than titanium in vitro. In vivo, there is dearth of existing literature cased by inflammation. Furthermore, this metallic element of silver and copper enhances antibacterial properties, for great appearance and function for an effective use in biomedical platform.
