Project Details

Description

Colorectal cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers in the world. The incidence of colorectal cancer is the firstof all cancers in Taiwan. Ganoderma lucidum has multiple physiological activities, such as immune regulation, anti-oxidation and anti-tumor. The evidence shows that gut microbiota can change the tumor microenvironment and promote the progress of colorectal cancer.G.lucidum plays a role in gut microbiota regulation, but the effects of G.lucidum on gut microbes which promoting colorectal cancer progression and the function of intestinal cells remain to be clarified. The aim of the study is to investigate the role of G.lucidum on gut microbiota regulation and intestinal cell function in animal models to assess its ability on inhibiting colorectal cancer as well as enhancing the efficacy of chemotherapy drugs.
