台灣潰瘍性結腸炎發生率由1998年每十萬人0.61人上升至2015年12.8人。潰瘍性結腸炎造成菌相失衡與免疫失調,產生發炎反應、腸道緊密連結蛋白功能失調,影響腸通透率。故考慮以天然有效成分之益生質與益生菌減緩潰瘍性結腸炎病灶。枸杞多醣具抗發炎、免疫調節及益生質特性,龍根菌具抗發炎、免疫調節及益生菌作用,因此假設枸杞多醣或/與龍根菌為共生質藉由抗發炎、調節免疫、調節上皮細胞癌胚胎抗原細胞黏著分子、降低腸通透率、維持粒線體完整與功能及調節腸道菌相,幫助損傷腸黏膜修復。本研究以細胞與大鼠實驗證實其效用與調節機制,期未來應用於人體臨床試驗,作為改善潰瘍性結腸炎之保健品,減少藥物劑量,節省藥物成本。
