Description
Immigrant life stress is important for the immigrant women who are divorced. Women with transnational marriage not only need to adjust to Taiwan society but also face challenges of roles of women. Since the population of mothers with divorced or widow is increasing, to understand their Immigrant life stress experience becomes important issue. Thus, the purposes of this study will be develop and validate immigrant life stress scale for immigrant women who are divorced. The proposal will be executed for two years and 6 months. The samples are the immigrating women, from Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand. They will be informed consent and voluntary. There are two stages to test Immigrant life stress issues. First, the items of this scale will be developed based on the data of the in-deep interview and Demands of Immigration (DI) Scale by Ding, et al. (2011). The items then will be translated and back-translated into Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand by bilingual experts. The translated instrument will be pre-tested to correct wording. The scale will be used to investigate the qualified mothers. The test-retest, internal consistency, item-total correlation, factor analysis will be applied to test its reliability and validity. Then a cross-sectional survey was conducted. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method was used for data analysis. Secondary, the study adopts the experimental design before and after cross-sectional design, to understand the Immigrant life stress, self-efficacy, resilience, acculturation, and psychological morbidity, in addition to discussing the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral self-help intervention based on cognitive behavioral theory. Convenience sampling is a method used in this study. The experimental groups accept 1 month intervention and complete pre-test and 2 post-tests. The control groups accept 8 months data collection and accept 1 month intervention. GEE is used to estimate the difference between the two groups in Immigrant life stress, self-efficacy, resilience, acculturation, psychological morbidity.
