Project Details

Description

In the past 10’s years, preserving the extraction socket and reduction the bone loss after extraction are the important issues in the dentistry. Following the consideration, bone grafting in the extraction socket is a common method for the purpose. Among the grafting materials, xenogenous graft showed good results in the clinic. However, the most popular xenogenous grafts are bovine bone grafts with the risk of Creutzfeldt- Jacob disease. Therefore, development of a novel bone graft is necessary for the dentistry . In this study, synthetic bone graft, hydroxyapatite(HAp) , tricalcium phosphate(TCP) and HAp/β-TCP composite will be surface modified with magenesium(Mg) by hydrothermal method to develop noval Mg surface modified bone graft materials.. After the development, the properties tests and biological test will be done for the confirmation and safety. After the tests, implantation test will be arranged for the safety and efficiency evaluation in order to the clinical application.
