Organisation profile

The Cochrane Collaboration is an international research network that sets the global benchmark for high-quality, independent evidence of the effectiveness of health care through the publication of systematic reviews. More than 31,000 people from over 120 countries are dedicated to Cochrane’s mission to inform healthcare decision-making through excellence in evidence-based practice.

Cochrane Taiwan is among one of the Cochrane societies supporting the global work of Cochrane and maximizing the use and impact of Cochrane Reviews for the Taiwan and East Asian region. Cochrane Taiwan is funded by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Taiwan and hosted by the Taipei Medical University. With great supports from the Australasian Cochrane Centre, East Asian Cochrane Alliance, and Taiwan Evidence-Based Medicine Association, Cochrane Taiwan supports the production of Cochrane Systematic Reviews for Cochrane authors and other contributors. We aim to maximize the impact of Cochrane Reviews by disseminating and implementing the findings widely to health professionals, researchers, decision makers and the public.

Cochrane Reviews are systematic reviews of primary research in human health care and health policy and are internationally recognized as the highest standard in evidence-based health care. They investigate the effects of interventions for prevention, treatment , and rehabilitation. They also assess the accuracy of a diagnostic test for a given condition in a specific patient group and setting. The reviews are updated as needed, ensuring that treatment decisions can be based on the most up-to-date and reliable evidence. Cochrane Systematic Reviews are published online, in full text, in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews in the Cochrane Library.
