Treatments offered include surgery for lung, esophagus, pleural, tracheal, mediastinal, diaphragmatic and chest wall diseases. Our unit dedicates in advanced surgical techniques namely minimally invasive thoracic surgery, including Da Vinci robotic-assisted thoracic surgery. We aim to provide patient-centered quality surgical services, which is among the top within the country.Currently, the thoracic surgical team is led by Professor Ching Tzao in service, research and teaching. All of our faculties are committed to promote cutting edge technology in the diagnosis and surgical treatment for thoracic malignancies, including lung, esophageal and mediastinal tumors, with emphasis on screening and early diagnosis for lung cancer. We have recently recruit Dr. Huai-Lu Chang who is an value addition to clinical services and teaching. Dr. Chang is also appointed as the Vice Director for the Thoracic Tumor Board at TMUH to help in promoting quality service of thoracic oncology. Our ex-chief, Dr. Lien, 09/2003 to 04/2014, has been a successful leader in past years, who was also the director in surgical critical care for the period from 05/2008 to 04/2014. 。The faculties are responsible for education and training for fifth to seventh grade medical students from the Taipei Medical University as well as PGY1 and resident trainees. We are glad to be recognized by the Taiwan Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery as one of the national training center for thoracic surgical specialist since July, 2011.Fingerprint
