The Departments of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) in medical school of Taipei Medical University (TMU) consists of three departments of PRM at Taipei Medical University Hospital (TMUH), Wan Fang Hospital (WFH) and Shuang Ho Hospital (SHH) which provides good clinical services, research and teaching programs. The Department of PRM in TMU medical school has 12 teachers including 2 full professors, 3 associate professors, 3 assistant professors and 4 lectures. In order to have a better service and research, faculty is organized to six taskforces in the area of rehabilitation. These six taskforces are neuro-rehabilitation, orthopedic/musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, pediatric, cancer and the International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health (ICF) teams. The purpose of rehabilitation is to help people from prevention of disease (health promotion), treatment, rehabilitation, to long-term care. All these rehabilitation teams provide comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach and composed of physiatrists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists and social workers. The department of PRM in TMU medical school devoted to research in recent decades and published 121 scientific citation index articles in recent 3 years. The faculty of this department continued to receive several grants from government with a total amount of 55,000,000 dollars (1,800,000 USD) in recent three years.Fingerprint
