Taipei Medical University Family Medicine department is based on out-patient department and community service-oriented clinical disciplines. We provide high-quality medical care to family as a unit and patient-centered. The department has dedicated to three areas : teaching, research and services. Regarding to teaching, we focus on teaching in out-patient department and community health clinics. The goal is to cultivate medical students; innovative new teaching materials in family medicine; and focus on the training in community medicine and holistic education during the three years of residency. We also emphasize on nurturing of ACGME six core competencies and build personal learning portfolios. In research area, we combined community evidence-based medicine with clinical research. We also emphasize on R & D and innovation, and actively communicate with international community. Thus, enhance the quality of care in family medicine, geriatrics and community medicine.
